The promoters of the MARIAB Boston Book and Paper Expo (held this year on 7 May at the Shriner's Auditorium in Wilmington, MA) have offered all LT members a special complimentary pass to the show, which will include a book sale with more than 85 dealers, as well as a very decent selection of talks and exhibits (Michael Russem's talk on postage stamps designed by typographers is fantastic, and some of the others seem really great as well).

I've put the pass online at:
http://www.librarything.com/pics/fairpass.jpg (jpg) and
http://www.librarything.com/pics/fairpass.pdf (PDF) - just print one of these out (does not have to be in color) and bring it with you to the expo, for free admission.

Cross-posting this in the Bostonians, Simmons College and Rare, Old & Offbeat groups. If there's anywhere else anyone thinks it should go, either let me know or just feel free to post the links!

Thanks for posting this. I already had received several notices of the expo and was planning to go. However, while the pass does say complimentary, it is only a coupon for $1 off.

>2 LucasTrask: - Click one of the links in my post to the special LT pass, which is complimentary (there's a different coupon on the Expo website for $1 off).

Thanks, I did. As I mentioned it states complimentary at the top, but only $1 off below. I believe you, I just hope that person at the door accepts it.

Ah, I see what you mean. Yes, without the little yellow "Compliments of LT" bar at the top, that ad is good for $1 off. With the bar, it's free.

That looks cool, I just have such a pet peeve with things called "Boston Whatever" that aren't in Boston! (I'll give Brookline and maybe even Cambridge a free pass but if you have to take the MBCR to get there it's not Boston.) I would totally go but it's not worth dealing with the commuter rail or renting a car. Thanks for offering this though.
