Born in Baghdad and raised in America, I come from an ancient lineage of Babylonian healers. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Wayne State University, studied fiction and memoir through various correspondence courses, poetry in Prague, and screenwriting at MPI (Motion Picture Institute of Michigan).

The author of 12 books, I have been journalist for the Chaldean News for the last ten years and am also a reporter and ambassador to Arab America. My essays, articles and poetry have appeared in national and international publications, including World Literature Today, Mizna, Gargoyles, Acumen 59 [England], the Transnational [Germany] and numerous other literary publications, including a chapbook called Lettre Savage. Formerly I was a columnist for the Macomb and Oakland Observer, a regular contribute for the Gazette van Detroit, and a feature writer for St. Claire Shore Times.
