I've recently moved, and a great many of my books are still halfway across the country, waiting to be sent over. So, the books catalogued here are books that were either meaningful enough to take with me in my limited luggage space, or books that I bought in the new city.

I'm in the habit of, upon entering the apartment of a new acquaintance, to casually scan their bookshelves to see what kind of person they are. I suspect most book-loving people do the same. I'm guilty of "editing" my collection in order to make the proper impression, with a few books kept in a drawer or under the bed, away from prying eyes. I'm subject to the same impulses on this website. Does my virtual shelf seem a bit short on self-help books, perhaps?

I’m Maddy Stuart, a Toronto erotica writer whose first short stories were published July 2006 in anthologies by Alyson books. My writing has always had an erotic bent, and I’ve become fascinated with the genre.

My other love is music, especially classical music and opera. I’ve also found it great fun to paint, although I’m strictly an amateur.

I enjoy playing with computers, and after learning how to do it in school I’m now making a living at it. I’m really a geek at heart and have tremendous fondness for computer games, math, and Douglas Hofstadter books.
