- Author of the novel "Head Games," published 2007 by Bleak House Books, and a 2008 Edgar®, Anthony and Gumshoe awards-finalist for Best First Novel. His second novel, "Toros & Torsos," a prequel/sequel to "Head Games," was published October 2008 by Bleak House Books. The third Lassiter novel, "Print the Legend," appeared in 2010, and the fourth "One True Sentence," in 2011.
"El Gavilan," a standalone novel about illegal immigration, appeared in 2011 and received a starred review from Publishers Weekly, and appeared on numerous year best lists.
McDonald has begun publishing a series of eBook exclusive thrillers: the first two, "Parts Unknown" and "Carnival Noir," appeared in 2012.
He is also the author of two nonfiction collections of crime author interviews: "Art in the Blood: Crime Novelists Discuss Their Craft," published by PointBlank and "Rogue Males: Conversations & Confrontations About the Writing Life," published by Bleak House Books (2009). Short stories have also appeared in several anthologies including "The Deadly Bride," "Thuglit 3" and "Dublin Noir." - Ubicación
