As you can see, I find an author and stick with him/her to the bitter end. Dunnett is the best, Cornwell and O'Brian right up there, Parker a guilty pleasure, Asprin an old favorite (despite his recent bitterness). Carroll is a demigod, Gaiman one of the ancient Heroes, McCullough divine so long as she writes about Rome.
