Books and I had parted ways a long time ago. We used to go out a lot. We had a really good thing going.

But I don't know where we fell out.

Perhaps they were just too pushy at school and university. Perhaps Books, like women, matured more quickly than I did, and I just didn't cut the mustard - though that wasn't a problem up to the age of 16.

Happily though, Books and I went on a few holidays together over the past few years. I have started to enjoy the quiet moments we spend together at coffee shops, on a train, in bed.

This librarything is a wee "notion" I took, when I actually realised how many I had in the house, and the times - over the past few years - we had spent together.
