I'm a writer as well as a reader. I'm British, and live in Lancashire, just 30 miles or so from where I was born, in Manchester. I started out writing theatre scripts, but had my first novel ('The Murder Tree') published in 2013, and then I REALLY started to learn how to write...

My second book was a much tougher challenge: I had to get into the head of a different sex, write about life in a time before I was born, and in a country I had never visited. Even more, it was to be a true story based on letters written by my own mother - so the plot wasn't even mine! But thus far the feedback for 'A Kangaroo In My Sideboard' has been excellent - so at last I can get back to writing novels.

I read every day, and enjoy thrillers, biographies, human interest and historical fiction, as well as a good detective story.
