Decent sized book of kosher dishes. The trayf versions of the recipes were originally by guest chiefs on a cooking show. Then they made the food items kosher. Really almost anything can be made kosher somehow so I think they made a bigger deal of the book than it needed to be. One thing that bugs me is that there are errors (mislabeling kosher status) which maybe they will be good enough to fix in their next version.
This was the first Jewish cookbook I ever owned. It has the best recipes for stuffed cabbage and for certain cookies I've ever found. It is not too far-reaching, but it is definitely worth owning. Zeidler does give suggestions of menu choices for different holidays. The book organization could use some better structure, and the index is not very well done, but once you find the recipe you want, you'll enjoy it.
