Not bad! Discusses stories about Archimedes and whether they are true or merely representative. Gives some useful contextual background; I've heard the story of Archimedes' death over and over, but I had no idea why the Romans were besieging Syracuse.½

This book has the potential to develop upon other books that I have covered up to this point, including the books on Galileo, Einstein, and Copernicus. However, I do not care for this book at all as a teaching tool for children. The book continuously returns to Hubble’s tendency to lie to the people around him. This is not the message that we should be sending our children. Despite the fact that Hubble made very remarkable progress in the Astronomy field, I cannot support using him as a role model. If I were to use this book, there would be a discussion about the negative effects of lying to the people around us.

This is a succinct biography, written for an Elementary School audience. Published in 2001, it chronicles Bullock's life from childhood to the release of Miss Congeniality. Author Susan Zannos reveals the actress as a hardworking, down-to-earth kind of celebrity.
