Four days overdue, and I'm done (I deserve no pity, though, because I renewed this dozens of times as it sat in the back of my to-read pile until I committed). Big, beautiful coffee table book that doesn't skimp on details about the design and decoration of the house, the various illustrious pedigrees of its resident family, and the lives they led at Ardrossan through the 20th century. I love reading about the big houses of the Gilded age, and it's fascinating to examine an American one that's still intact/used by its original family.… (más)
