My dad gave me a copy of this when it first came out. Nice book, but I haven't read it in years.

The book is a historical overview of the Apache people; from the invasion and expulsion of their land, a continual struggle to maintain their culture and racial attributes, and their ability to adapt and survive through subjugation. From the coming of the Spaniards to the Anglos to conflicts among differing bands and treachery of government officials, their history was one of constant warfare and survival until they were confined to the reservations.
