Clifford Witting (1907–1968)

Pleasant enough; as usual, I didn't guess whodunit. I still like my theory that the guy who read lots of murder mystery novels decided to try his hand at a complicated real one. The murders were certainly complicated and the details were not always clear to me. And I find it hard to believe that someone could provide verbatim an entire page of the drunken ramblings of someone else.
The introduction, by the author's daughter, explains that this was the first book written by her father; I'd be willing to try another one. The book is part of series of reprints from the golden age of fictional detectives---the 1930s.… (más)
