A preschool appropriate introduction to being non-binary. The unnamed child gets ready for a day at school and playtime afterward with their friends while declaring full acceptance of who they are, "not he or she, I'm me." Nothing more complex than that!

The singsongy refrain throughout the book echoes the title, with occasional variations throughout the day-in-the-life story ("Snug in my bed, / stars overhead, / not he or she... / just me"). Affirming of nonbinary identities, and with visually interesting mixed media illustrations (Photoshop, acrylic paint, screen printing ink, watercolor, newsprint, pencil, and crayon) that might inspire readers to write and illustrate their own poems.
