Betty White Ludden (born January 17, 1922), better known as Betty White, is an American actress, comedian, author, and former game show host. She is best known for her television roles as Sue Ann Nivens on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls. White won seven Emmy awards mostrar más and received 20 Emmy nominations. In 2010 she became the oldest person to guest-host Saturday Night Live, for which she also received a Primetime Emmy Award. She met her husband, Allen Ludden, while appearing as a celebrity guest on his game show, Password. White has also authored many books. A very engaging book that's not quite autobiography or memoir or essay, but a charming mash of all three. Betty catches us up on her most recent activities, but also goes back to tell some anecdotes from the past. The audio book is an extra delight, because she reads it in her inimitable, expressive style.
Light and breezy, but still a fun read, especially for her comments on aging.
Who doesn't love Betty White??!!
This is a simple book where Betty gives her little anecdotes from her life on different topics including how much she loved making television shows, her love for her deceased husband who she knows is with her every day and her beloved pets. It was so lovely to hear her share her memories and how lucky she felt to have all her fans love her. She touches on important moments in her life such as realizing she was lucky enough to have the same friendship with the women from Hot in Cleveland that she had with her costars on The Golden Girls. While this was a very quick read that jumped from topic to topic there were still moments that made me laugh and those that made me smile. Given the added benefit of listening on audio, I got to hear the iconic voice of Betty White - the voice I grew up with and loved.
If you are looking for a short book to finish your reading goals for the year, this would be a fantastic choice as you can get this done while doing simple household chores or driving in the car.… (más)

Having delved into 73 books, 10 of which were memoirs or autobiographies, my literary journey reached 74 with Betty White's memoir marking number 11. Reflecting on my exploration of this genre throughout the year, it's been a mixed experience, and Betty White's account falls somewhere in the middle.
At 36, my admiration for Betty White fueled my anticipation for this read. Unveiling aspects of her life previously unknown to me, the book provided insights into her accomplishments pre-Golden Girls. While I relished revisiting familiar anecdotes, the humor I anticipated, given her renowned wit, fell slightly short of expectations. Nevertheless, the book remains a compelling narrative, shedding light on the remarkable journey of a beloved personality.
In essence, Betty White's memoir offers a comprehensive look into her extraordinary life. Despite the humor not reaching its anticipated pinnacle, the book proves to be a worthwhile read. If you're intrigued by a three-hour audiobook and can appreciate a more measured pace, it's certainly worth a try.
