Wendell Porter (1948–1997)

Born in Springfield, Illinois. Attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Founded the Institute of Cosmological Research located in Santa Cruz, California and Carbondale, Illinois. Author of several self published works only provided to students and local community in Santa Cruz, California or Carbondale, Illinois. Considered by his students to be "enlightened" His philosophy was a mix of eastern and western religions. He also wrote music and recorded music to be heard with his books. He was said to have taken the 2nd initiation in Aurora, Colorado and the 3rd Initiation on July 25th (location not disclosed). His students celebrated this date as his true birthday. In 1981 the school was lost in a mud slide in Ben lomand, California. Students scattered to various locations at that time. After several attempts to restart the "Institute" Porter was semi retired in 1989 with only a few students still supporting him. He died in february of 1997. Some students still have copies of his work that have never been publically published.
