Biografía breve
Richard Watt was born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1962. He has a degree in Linguistics from Edinburgh University, and has spent much of his working life in sales and IT. Richard's writing career took off when he became a regular contributor to the Prince George Citizen newspaper with his Dear Friends columns, written during the process of moving to the northern BC city in 2006. Since moving to Canada, Richard has had flash fiction accepted by 365 Tomorrows, and published his first full-length novel, Going Back, in June 2013.

"Wow, that was really good." is exactly what I said to my husband right after reading the last page. Many different characters were part of this story and the author did such a wonderful job of developing them that I felt drawn into their lives. The connections this group of characters had with each other and how events that occurred 25 years ago still impacted their lives to the present day, kept me intrigued. The twists and turns led me down roads of mystery, deception, friendship, love, morality, abuse, psychosocial issues, sadness, joy, forgiveness, and acceptance. Despite all the various elements within the story it never was confusing. This I attribute to the author's skill of excellent story telling. Kudos to Richard Watt on his first novel.

I enjoyed this a lot – it had a genuine psychological realism to it, and it was fascinating to watch a man discover another half to his life, to have his experiences given perspective and to watch a group slowly come to terms with a past they have sought to avoid. The pages turned easily, and in particular I enjoyed how experiences that might not have phased one person crippled another, and that this could be conveyed without melodrama or making the character appear unsympathetic. In the best way, it all felt very real.… (más)
