"Olive, the Other Reindeer" is a picture book about Olive, a dog who mishears a line from a Christmas song and believes she's meant to be a reindeer. Excited about her newfound purpose, Olive embarks on a journey to the North Pole to join Santa's sleigh team. Along the way, she faces challenges and meets new friends who help her realize the true meaning of belonging and friendship. I wanted to love it. I really and truly did. But even the story of a dog who thinks she is "the other reindeer" because her name is Olive.....it's not enough for me to get over the really horrible text. Seriously. It's rough. Too much of it.
