This is the first time that I read this author's work and was well-pleased with the heartwarming story. From the beginning, I was enthralled to learn more about this unique story. The flow is excellent, the writing clear and the characters believable.

Corporate life didn't treat Katie Grace well. Even her name and surname have a pleasant flow to it that sets the mood of the entire story.

Suffering from extreme anxiety because of an incident at work, she learns she has inherited her late grandmother's Victorian house in the lake town of Aveline. A beautiful town in the rolling hills of the Los Padres National Forest. A new start, her only wish.

Sam Grant remembers Katie from their summers, years before. But Sam was determined never to get involved in a relationship again, but working on Katie's house renovations tested his resolve.

Katie allows herself to dream again where she found solace in her food creations. Soon her new house becomes the space for her new friends to gather. Members of the town welcomed Katie and her heart finds safety in the lake-town. These characters became wonderful supporting characters as she finds her feet and slowly her trust was built to a tangible substance that strengthened her.

Maddie, another major character though, threw a few curve balls, and it was touch and go if Katie will remain put and give the town, and especially Sam, another chance.

A heartfelt story that really touches you.

The writing itself was flawless, with an easy flow that made it a pleasure to read. Definitely a must read for people that are looking for more depth within a contemporary romance. It has all the characteristic of a good book that helps you to believe in the goodness of people once again.… (más)
