This book was vastly different than I expected. I rated it lower because I don't think children will like the artwork. It is decidedly impressionist in style. (kind of reminded me of Claude Monet). However, a story about grief and bereavement (or could even be incarceration) and a family member struggling with that....this book has a niche audience.

The reminder to just be. That's okay to be sad. It's okay to be struggling. It's okay to not know what you need. Kids need to be told those things are okay!… (más)

This story about a girl & her stuffed owl finding some adventure is a lovely portrait of taking risks and finding ways to be brave.
