Sarah Veitch has a distinctively gentle style in her novels featuring erotic chastisement, and 'Serving Time' is an excellent example. Its distinctive plot is set in a small part of a judicial system in which those found guilty of irresponsible crimes are given the option of attending a secretive institution in which hard physical work is combined with severe corporal punishment in what is otherwise a benevolent, friendly environment. As will be imagined, this allows much scope for detailed descriptions of chastisements, M/F and F/F, combined with liberal access to intimate relief. Any behaviour short of total obedience meets with salutary correction, some of it unfair. The reader is kept guessing, but not deprived of countless erotic chastisement situations, which are all described in a way that is almost tender.… (más)

Sarah Veitch has written a number of books, published by what seems to be her own company, all specialising in corporal chastisement. This example is a collection of 21 short (varying length) stories, some of which have appeared elsewhere. Short stories in a limited genre such as CP are usually challenging in terms of generating originality and novel scenarios. This collection succeeds quite well, including a few scenarios which avoid the expected situation in which the chastiser and the chastised are in a heterosexual relationship, and the mix includes some FF situations, and a good sprinkling of stories in which the chastisement is performed within a semi-official, institutional establishment.
