Eagle Boy fits the genre of traditional lit as well as a picture book. It is the story of a boy who loves eagles (traditionally this story would use a Raven as the bird; using the eagle is what makes it specific to the Northwest) but his Tribe does not trust eagles because they are known as tricksters. The boy is left on the beach when his tribe leaves to find food "let your friends the eagles feed you" they say as the canoes leave. Then the eagles so in fact feed him and although he is alone, he is taken care of. Eventually Eagle Boy learns that his tribe needs help because they are starving. At first Eagle Boy does not want to help them because they left him on the beach but in the end he does the right thing and he turns into an eagle and feeds his people just as the eagles fed him by dropping "hundred of silvery fish" from the sky. Finally his tribe returns and Eagle Boy is honored with a great feast.… (más)

This story is based on a Pacific Northwest Native American tale. Eagle boy is not liked by his tribe and is left behind on his own. Eagle boy finds food and ends up saving his tribe then being loved by his tribe.

The story is about the Northwest Coastal Indian tribe. It follows the journey of a boy who is named Eagle boy who is not welcomed by the tribe. During a time of starvation for him and his tribe, the Eagle boy is guided by eagles to finding food. Even though his tribe did not welcome him, he saves the tribe with the food he finds.

Based on a Pacific Northwest Native tale, Eagle Boy has a special love for eagles and as a result he becomes an outcast from his tribe, who does not trust the eagles. When the tribe relocates, they leave Eagle Boy to starve. However, he is saved by the help from his eagle friends. With the help of the Eagles, Eagle Boy was able to reunite with his tribe who was not able to find new land.
