It was alright. More drama than I can be bothered with, but the characters were okay, the romance between Brody and Sydney was fine. The plot was a bit messy but it is what it is. The whole Cherry thing Brody and Cherry are in a friends with benefits relationship wasn't horrible, just not what I want to read. 2 stars.

I loved Seth and Rowan and I really liked how the book started but I was not in love with how it progressed. It ended up lacking a believable ending for me. It was good just not great.

If this had stayed sweet like it wanted, it would have been a perfect read, but the spicy bits just did not seem to fit with the characters and through me out of the story.

A sweet story. It seemed a quick read to me but still good.
Luke Ambrose and Lily Sawyer.
They have spent 10 years apart(now divorced) and they reconnect.
There were a few things I liked about this book, the heroine suffers from amnesia but never fully regains her memory.
In the time apart there is no detail of O/W or O/M though the hero says he hasn't dated much, he has been involved with others and thinks it's likely of the heroine too but no details but there is no one rule for him and a different one for her.
They couldn't have children and that doesn't change and also isn't the cause of original separation.
There are hints about the next book.
HEA. Epilogue.

It's okay.
The turn around for the Hero was a bit quick, not very convinced, it all happened bit fast after him being horrid for 60%.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
No-one else during separation for either.
HEA.

I love a good girl and bad boy romance. Not usually a fan of new adult, but I really enjoyed this one. It had great sexual tension...and shocker I actually enjoyed the sex scenes. can't wait to read more by this author.

Short and sweet
4 stars

I enjoy Marquita Valentine’s smooth and engaging writing style and this short but sweet book pulled me in just as I expected it would.

Archer and Molly are best friends, both getting over break-ups. Well, Archer is actually getting over being dumped at the altar and, as Sheriff of their small town, he’s obligated to go to lots of events. Desperate not to be subjected to pitying stares, he ropes Molly in to be his plus one.

I do enjoy a friends-to-lovers story and this is a very gentle example of that trope. There’s no startling revelation of love from either Molly or Archer - just a kiss that makes them think and consider whether perhaps they are right for each other after all. It’s all very sweet. While there is some sex, it happens behind closed doors for the most part.

There are a few grammatical and spelling errors that are a little annoying. Nothing that a good proofreader wouldn’t be able to fix.

My main reason that I didn’t give 5 stars to this story is that there were lots and LOTS of references in this book to situations, people and scenarios that I had no clue about. The man Cora (Molly’s other best friend) was infatuated with, the Mansion, a non-existent invitation to a Yarn Shop - I felt like I was on the outside of some insider jokes. But I’ve no idea where that inside is! This book is part of the Kincaid series so perhaps things become clearer in later books. Or perhaps in this book’s prequel, The Sheriff's Midnight Kiss. And while I was confused, it wouldn’t put me off picking up other books in the series to read more about these characters.

Overall, this is a short and sweet story that will delight those that love some small town loving. An easy read and one I’d happily recommend to you. 4 stars.

Piper Ross wants her independence away from her controlling family and she wants her best friend's older brother, Jase. Just released from seven years in prison, has always had his eyes on Piper, but he's busy filling his time with booze, loose women, and work. When Piper reaches out to Jase about moving in with him, he doesn't know how to say no even if he should. Living together and working together opens up their eyes that they need to give each other a shot and when they do, it's like it is meant to be, even if Piper's family is completely against it and willing to do whatever it takes to separate them. As Piper and Jase face everything against them head on, they find that they only need love.

Piper isn't your average NA main character, she wasn't the most popular, the sportiest, or in her eyes, the prettiest, but she was smart, determined, and had the biggest heart. I really enjoyed that about her, that she was so normal. I enjoyed her drive to better herself and better life for others, I could have easily read about just about Piper and her career of helping others. I also liked that she stood up for herself, something we know she didn't do in her past. Jase, the handsome, tattooed ex-con, is our male MC and boy is he a good one. There's no major conflict in these two getting together, they push their worries aside fairly quickly, but Jase is definitely the most attentive. I expected a lot of alpha-male, but didn't get that feel so much. I did, however, get some great smut, something that Marquita Valentine writes so well. While the relationship didn't suck me in, it was fun to read about their successes instead of their failures.

My opinion is not the popular one for this book, unfortunately this one just didn't work for me in the end. When We Fall is a NA novel that has all the cliche requirements and what started as a promising story line fell short for me. While I liked the characters and their romance, I could have done with only one or two major events happening. On top of their slightly unconventional relationship, our MC, Piper, has terrible asthma, the kind of parents you wouldn't wish on anyone, no money, a sort of stalker, oh and did I mention, she's still a virgin and a huge deal is made of it. That's just a lot to take in for one book and one character. Yes, she has an awesome man and great friends, but jeez I would've given up if it was me. On top of that, the role of the parents just doesn't...make any sense. I normally love the story line of the parents who suck and the MC finds her wings or the parents find some sense, but the parental roles in this weren't constant. Dad isn't wealthy, doesn't have a white collar job, but is a pretentious jerk. Mom's got the money, is a total socialite, has a weird one-second moment of having feelings, then back to normal. Who are these parents?! I had a glimmer of hope for the mom, just a glimmer, but I just ended up disappointing. The conflicts all seemed to wrap up too easily, and even the most entertaining one was solved without much drama involving the MCs. I just wish we'd had less cliches, more focus on one or two events and their long term effect on the relationship.

This is the second novel in the Take the Fall series, however it can absolutely be read as a standalone. Marquita Valentine is a great writer and always very descriptive. As a reader, you'll be able to picture every character and scene perfectly. While this one wasn't for me, I suggest you take a look at it for yourself.

Hunter Sloan can more than help the people he works with as a cop, he can sympathize. With his childhood in an abusive family behind him, he's centered his life around helping others. There's just one girl he can't forget, even with her broken spirit and painful bruises, she stood out to him. When new-to-town Evangeline moves in across the street he can't believe it's the same woman and he'd do anything to have her.
Evangeline wants nothing to do with relationships, especially after leaving her abusive ex behind, but she can't get the cop across the hall out of her mind. As she learns to live on her own again and find the strength inside her she finds that companionship in Hunter isn't as bad as she once thought. She's always wary though, about the darkness that could be inside, and the choices she must make are harder than she imagined they would be.

“There’s a fire in her eyes that I would love to get burned by.”

I pretty much swooned my way through this entire book. Marquita Valentine writes characters that you'll immediately sympathize with and a story line that's both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. The Take the Fall series is known for having beautiful HEA's, but the process to get there in After We Fall is full of angst. I've never read a book and had so much hope for the characters, because I felt so much for them. Hunter is such a gentleman, his past forming him into a better person, and he's ever the optimist. Evangeline is beautiful, but broken, terrified of her ex, afraid to move on, and trapped in a cycle of pessimism. Together, though, these two even one another out and their chemistry is enough for both to put their pasts behind them in exchange for new beginnings. I loved both characters and how realistic they were as they dealt with their problems. Their chemistry is scorching hot and I love how they started out and what it morphed into. Plus, they happen to have the best friends ever and every interaction in this book was entertaining. I found myself laughing often, holding back tears repeatedly, and becoming an eternal optimist for both of the main characters to overcome their issues to be together.

“He’s not an impatient kisser, not at all. Hunter has a mouth made for sinning and the skills to make me want to skip dinner and go straight to dessert.”

While After We Fall is book 3 in the Take the Fall series it read a lot more like a standalone than I expected. There is more emphasis on the main characters and the single secondary characters than there are on the characters from the previous two novels. I loved the interactions the main characters had with the secondary characters, though at times they didn't feel conducive to moving the book along. While Evangeline and Hunter do have some serious chemistry, I wasn't expecting the instalove vibe I got. I felt like the abusive relationship Evangeline dealt with was almost forgotten for her personally about halfway through, unless she was being directly impacted by it. That said, I think everything the characters went through really lead to some great character development and story development, so my complaints didn't affect the overall read for me.

"I know what’s in your heart."

I was super impressed with After We Fall, I think Marquita Valentine handled the heavy topic of abuse very well and I loved the growth both characters go through. All of the characters had such personality and I will definitely be sticking around for Saylor's story, I love that nerdy girl!

Connor & Faith are perfect together! When Faith finds herself in danger, Connor steps in. After years of ignoring their chemistry so they didn’t lose their friendship, they decide to see where it heads. Of course, it’s not that easy! What follows is the perfect friends to lovers story. Faith lacks trust in anybody but Connor and that’s why she doesn’t want to lose their relationship. Connor is tired of being overlooked in his family but Faith is always in his corner. This is the sexy, feel good story you don’t want to miss!

Valentine has the perfect touch when it comes to romance. Emotion leaps right off the page and delivers a sucker punch to the heart. Whether you love or hate the hero in charge, it's pretty hard to forget the hold he has on a heart. Connor is no exception. Seducing the Billionaire's Brother begins in innocencence, but erupts into flames. Faith and Connor have a friendship that has weathered love, loss and wealth. Can it survive betrayal? They say love is blind, that may be true, but you never realize just how much until it happens to you.

I love Duke and True they were both genuine people doing the right thing but get lost along the way. The build up in this story is great and when they finally make their way back to each other there are fireworks!! I also love the side stories and supporting characters. I loved it. I purchased this book because I love Marquita Valentine. I have every book from her Holland Springs series and am always looking forward to reading her books. Love So Hot is the first book from her Lawsons series.
I purchased the book as soon as it was released. Love So Hot is the story of two friends that are in love but afraid to act on their feelings. What ensues is hilarious and entertaining fun. This is a must read. You will not want to put the book down until you finish it. I didn't.

Seducing the Billionaire's Wife is the perfect start to Marquita Valentine's Seducing the Billionaire series. Groomed since birth to
take over the family business, Andrew has always received whatever he's wanted. Now as an adult he is on the verge of losing it all, due to stipulations that his father has made. But an old blast from the past may change in all. Hannah owes Andrew a favor that he is calling in. Can a marriage of convenience lead to love? Or is this couple just too different to make it work? A fun read full of seduction and heart. I loved it and would definitely recommend this book. Received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Haven proved to be an interesting asset to this story. Her hard shell put others off but what many did not seem to notice was the soft center she disguised. This quality made her a charming yet frustrating character. Heath portrays himself to be an easy going individual. Underneath all the charm and cheerfulness, he is nursing a broken heart and loneliness he does not allow the world to see. Ms. Valentine has done an exceptionally beautiful job in creating two characters who have been living a charade to mask vulnerabilities that they don't want others to see. What proves an interesting turn of events is that what Haven has been lacking is what Heath has to give. What Haven has to offer is just what Heath seeks. The problem is Haven and Heath each have to trust enough to let down their guards. Lovely story that breaks and touches the heart of the reader. I received an ARC of The Temporary Bride by Marquita Valentine for an honest review. Deeply emotional and enormously entertaining.

First love, broken hearts, second chances. The Forgotten Bride has it all. Marquita Valentine's third book in her Bride's of Holland Springs series is the story of Luke and Lily. The first time around ended in anger, bitterness and heartbreak. Will the second time be a blessing? This story is about appreciating and counting your blessings. Good story.
