I liked this book much better than the first in the series. This was a nice short story about Noah the wedding planner and carpenter/artist Brooks. Despite a difficult first impression, these guys got to know each other well, and I liked how they came together. Sweet story that I enjoyed.

This story had some good basic bones. Channing (aka Moose) is a professional football player who meets Lane while at his friend's bachelor party. They have a nice time talking, but don't think they are going to see each other again. When Channing shows up for the wedding and sees that Lane is the wedding planner, they take advantage of the time to get to know each other more. I liked the easy connection that they felt. There was a bit of insta-love, but I don't mind that at all. I did like that Moose was mostly out. It brought a nice different angle than most sports books.

While the bones were good, there were a couple of things that bothered me enough to bring this down to 3 stars. First, Lane seems like such a busy workaholic guy who is really good at his job. It seemed out of character to let some duties fall to the side because he wants to spend time with Moose at the wedding. This was minor though. What really bothered me was the lack of knowledge of football and the role of the quarterback. While some of it was correct, there were a lot of glaring issues with the football lingo and knowledge. It really pulled me out of the story to read that the other team's quarterback was on the field at the same time as Moose and that the other quarterback had been mowing people down. This is not accurate at all. Maybe a lot of readers won't recognize that or care, but there are those of us who do notice. If you are going to write something in like that, research it better.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
