Biografía breve
Katharine Bear Tur (born October 26, 1983) is an American author and broadcast journalist working as correspondent for NBC News. Tur is an anchor for MSNBC Live and has reported for the NBC news platforms Early Today, Today, NBC Nightly News, Meet the Press, WNBC-TV, MSNBC, and The Weather Channel.

Tur was the [NBC's] embedded reporter for the Donald Trump presidential campaign. She was responsible for informing the Trump campaign about the Access Hollywood tape that NBC possessed.

Several times during his campaign rallies, Trump singled out Tur in his criticism of the press. At an event in Florida, Tur was booed by Trump supporters and, according to other journalists, was subjected to verbal harassment. According to Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, "[Trump] didn't mean it in any malicious way", and he did not want anyone to attack or harass her.

The book easily engrossed me, but left me with little new knowledge of Trump, campaign coverage, or the life of a reporter. Maybe I just didn't connect with her. It doesn't help that I stopped watching television news 15 years ago.

I heard an interview of Katy Tur on NPR about this book and saw, when I spotted it on a library shelf, I checked it out on impulse. I was an embassy press officer from 1976 through 1999, and this book is one of the best descriptions of what working journalists do, and best partly because it is honest, partly because it is impassioned and partly because it is personal. All of it is well-written. After reading this memoir, I am determined to read her book about the 2016 Trump campaign.

I really loved her previous book Unbelieveable so I gave her memoir a try.

Her voice is so open and honest and natural. Her upbringing, with TV journalist parents and a violent father who then oddly became a woman, was so unusual it's surprising she seems so stable and solid. A terrific memoir.
