Phillip Thomas Tucker, PhD, is a writer and historian who has edited and authored more than two dozen books and written over sixty scholarly articles. After earning his PhD in 1990, he took a position as civilian historian with the Department of Defense and specialized in air force history. She is correct, it often reads like an op-ed for his other history books on the Modern Vietnam war period. He is versed in Modern History, and more modern warfare. This particular topic seems to be more a crutch to promote his work on the modern eras, which is a shame. This topic is fascinating*, as is this period, and both deserve their own treatment and focus.
*I've written a few brief papers on the Trung sisters, but not attempted a deep delve research-wise. I had hoped Mr. Tucker had done this so I could learn more.… (más)
