A brief history of Native Americans in journalism and reporting, beginning with The Cherokee Phoenix in 1827, through radio broadcasts in various rural reservations, to TV reporters. Suggests that the involvement of Native Americans on the news team gives the opportunity for a more balanced presentation of tribal communities.
