Everyone knows Barbie, but do you really know the story of the Barbie doll? This book is all about how they make Barbies, where the ideas came from, interesting little sidenotes, and more.

I never really got into Barbies that much when I was young but some of the information in this book is still interesting. It's kind of surprising to see how much the Barbie doll has changed over the years. The Barbies my sister and I played with were nothing like the ones my mom played with.

If you used this book in a classroom, you might be able to use it as a supplementary book to teaching timelines or certain historical events. The book is so big and jam packed with information that you probably couldn't use it as the main reading material for a unit. You might could also use it if you were talking about toys. I don't think younger kids would enjoy this book but I can see 3rd grade students getting into it.… (más)
