Darlene Tallman

Brick's House from the Royal Bastards MC: Roanoke, VA chapter is definitely a Darlene Tallman book. It's the first in the series and I'm not sure yet if it fits with the rest of the RBMC series cause this chapter is different, nicer if you will. And it doesn't have the typical traits of the other RBMC books I've read.
Brick is the President of the club in Roanoke. His club is getting patched over to the Royal Bastards and just when it's going to happen he gets a message from Voodoo that he has to find someone. If you've read the Ankeny chapter you can guess where the message originated from. That's when Rae or Sprite as the club names her comes in. Rae has been abused and had a terrible childhood before she's left for dead. That's when the club finds her. Brick automatically knows he wants to kill whoever hurt her ever and wants to claim her. He's nice and lets her heal and learn. I mean the girl doesn't even know her birthday to know how old she is. But that's about as far as it goes. It's like since Brick already decided she will be his Ol'Lady all he needs is sex and he's good. He doesn't try to get to know her and I have a problem with that. Sure I'm used to bikers wanting to claim a woman as soon as they meet or he sees her but they at least try to get to know her in between rounds of sex. When given the strength and time to heal we realize how strong of a woman Rae is to overcome what she has been through. She's strong enough to fit in with the club and be an Ol'Lady.
This book is left on a cliffhanger so we don't know what will happen to Brick and Rae. I hope she keeps getting stronger and learning how to be independent and I hope while Brick is taking care of the trouble coming their way he gets to know her. Time will tell if the Royal Bastards MC: Roanoke, VA chapter fits in with the rest of the series. Read A Very Merry Brick-mas to find out what happens with Brick and Rae.
