I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. Audrey Randolph seemed to have a perfect a perfect life, but 1962 has been riddled with tragedy. Her mother passes away and leaves her with secrets and revelations Aubrey is too stunned to face. Will she finally be able to accept these revelations about her mother?

This was a great book on acceptance and forgiveness. The characters really came to life in this tearjerker. Aubrey felt so betrayed by her parents for keeping their secret for a very long time, but now her mom has died and with the help of those around her to come terms with who her mother was. I loved this book, it’s definitely a rainy day read and a great one at that!

Widow Woman, to me was a story of love and forgiveness. The main character, Audrey, recently found out that her husband cheated on her and then her mother dies unexpectedly. She goes back home to her mother's home to scatter her mother's ashes and also to clean out the house. She is very heartbroken about her mother's death and when she goes to the lawyer to go over the will, she finds out some things about her mother and the woman she considered to be a second mother that she finds hard to believe.

The story takes place in 1962 where certain things are still taboo and difficult to deal with. Audrey struggles with what she knows but when her mother's good friend tries to commit suicide, she starts to understand what her mother's life was like and who she was. With the help of letter's from her mother to her, she is able to come to grips with what she knows and finally is able to be at peace with her own life.

I enjoyed this story and it did bring on a tear or two while reading and it had an ending that was totally unexpected but nice. I think the story also brings to light what life was like in the 60's for a woman.I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I received a copy of this book for review and was not monetarily compensated for my review.

I was expecting something different when I agreed to review this book. It does read very fast, and is interesting. The subject is very controversial, and it is dealt with in a very different manner.
When Audrey is called home because of the sudden death of her Mother, she had to deal with her grief. She is also dealing with the betrayal of her Husband. What she ends up with is so very much more.
To think that she had grown up with a Mother that she thought she knew so well, and a lot was happening right under her nose, but she never saw or thought about it.
When the shock of what was going on starts to sink in, Audrey faces another bigger challenge. That girl had a lot of heart ache to begin with, but now she is facing a life and death situation.
I felt sorry for Audrey, everything hit her at once, my Mother died suddenly, and I know what a shock it was. On top of that she dealing with her Husband, and then with saving a life. Or maybe taking a life.
The Author tackled these subjects in a very caring way. Even though I don't agree with some of the things that go on here, I do recommend this book.

I received this book through Orangeberry Book Tours, and was not required to give a positive review.
