Fun grumpy-grumpy rom-com, which is not a trope I knew I needed until this story but I loved it! Quick read, bit of an old-school, zany caper. I loved the snarky fmc, I snickered more than once. Not thrilled with some of the sexist scenarios and objectification early on in the book, but the fmc wasn't really either so I guess that's something. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

This was a new to me author so I had no idea what to expect. I think overall the story was really cute. Gwen being in STEM was really nice. Ty and Gwen could not be more different like at all. She can't stand him because he is hyper critical of what they do. Add into the mix the team (and a few others) learn that he's going to pull the funding for thier research. The only solution is a trip to encourage him to give the money. A task which is not going to be simple as Ty has big plans for the money, something he has been working towards since he was young. Gwen is selected to go on the trip to convince Ty to give them funding, however she isn't the only one who is on this same mission.

Almost from the start Gwen's journey is full of mishaps and moments that make you laugh. From a lost bag to baby vomit to convincing half the group they could get a serious disease. It's a cute and fun. I would love to say it's lighthearted but it has some incredibly serious moments. I think it's good though because it makes the characters more real. The book really turns into this journey of self-exploration and growth for both Ty and Gwen. I love the little cute moments between them because they both are trying so hard to deny the attraction they feel. It's a slow burn. It has banter a lot of tension filled banter. I just sort of felt that at times the story dragged on. However, I enjoyed the story for the most part.
