This book is exactly what it says it is. Knitting without needles? Fat yarn? Fingers and arms? No way!
(Way!)
I first saw arm knitting on pinterest and youtube. A simple cowl. I loved how easy it was and so I found this title in my local bookstore.
My daughter finished a scarf in 30 min and she's a beginning knitter. She expressed that arm knitting helped her see more of the mechanics and design of knitting, which in turn, will help her with traditional needle knitting as well. That's a bonus for beginners.
I like the unconventional approach to knitting and even more fun to tackle with the kiddos.
Personally, as a needle knitter since 2nd grade (Hi, Mom) and more recently loom knitting, I was impressed at the ease of patterns and instructions. The pictures are also well done, pretty even, and easy to follow. Patterns are for various skills.
Lastly, the projects are big, like a blanket (which is gorgeous) or smaller, like scarves, wall art, or tote bags. There are 35 in total. I like having a mix of short to lengthy projects. I find short projects are especially important when I want to create something not so time-consuming. I love it when a project comes to fruition in an hour or two. I feel accomplished. Or perhaps, its to assuage the guilt over the million gazillion skeins of yarn I have in my closet.
Shhh, don't tell.
If you want to try arm or hand knitting, this collection is a great place to start.… (más)
