A vibrant collection of lives of the saints awaits you in this book by Stamatis. The author is a life-long Orthodox educator and Psalti in the Greek Church in America. However, this synaxarion is not limited to the Greek Church. Instead, the volume includes descriptions of saints (ca. 1000 entries) and saints names (ca. 2000 names) from across Greek, Persian, Arabic, Romanian, Serbian, Russian, and other Slavic Traditions. It also samples lives of the saints from twenty centuries of the Holy Church.

Most entries will inspire you with examples of a saint's perseverance to make peace, love God and the Church with intensity, as well as witness to Christ. I attribute my response of genuine affection regarding the saints to the author's engaging style of writing.

Additional features make this book worthy to read and consult on a daily basis. First, it draws upon solid sources for descriptions of lives of the saints. Second, it consults multiple primary and secondary sources to present lesser known aspects to saints' lives. Third, the book's descriptions of saints appear in everyday English. This synaxarion is a good choice to read during a family meal, parish event, or private devotion.

Although regularly introducing new products or services is the lifeblood of most industries, bringing them to market can be fraught with peril.
