I am not sure where to start. This book is still on my mind days after reading it! It went so fast, I couldn’t believe I finished it! I haven’t read the first book, which I plan to very soon. I am in love with this genre or maybe just the author. Who knows!

There is nothing better than love and war! And not the war you think! Biker gang war. I never thought I would like something like this! I will admit, I had a hard time in the beginning. I get these are bikers, but the language (not the swearing) was hard for me to get used to. I am a grammar Nazi. So the usage of improper grammar bugged me at first. I eventually got over it. It fit the characters. If it would have been written in perfect English then the characters would have lost their appeal.

There is much going on in this book. Rival biker gangs at war. Russian mobsters coming for lives. No one knows who to trust. Throw in some love interests. Shake it all up and you have one rip-roaring, can’t put the book down kind of book!

The relationships in this book are realistic. Believable. Lovable. There isn’t a character I didn’t like. I don’t think I was supposed to, was I? If so, I couldn’t tell! The list of characters makes up one big family who knows the true meaning of family. They all would lay down their lives for one another.

When things really get rip-roaring in this story, you find yourself forgetting that you are reading a book. It is like watching a movie in your head! I just can’t explain it! I really don’t want to explain it because then I would be giving away many secrets that would ruin it for you!

All in all, this is a book I would recommend to just about anyone I know that likes to read—no matter what their preference! I am looking forward to reading the previous book in this series!

Very dark look at the MC life.

One of the things that makes this one stand out from the others is the heroine. She comes from a Russian crime family and grew up seeing and experiencing things no one should. She is one tough cookie and already knows the crap that goes down in a MC club. When the Russian life she tried to run away from collide with her life now with Braxxon Breaker and the Breakneck MC there are lots of casualties.

Head the warning on this book – lots of drug use and extreme sexual violence along with other forms of violence.

A PEEK BEYOND CONSEQUENCES by Aleatha Romig I read this first because because I love Clair and Tony. WOW I just loved how we were right were it all left off and we get a PEEK into the new world of the Rawlings. I really hope there is more to their story.

THE CAGING: Week One by Sarah Dosher. What an amazing use of 1st person. I honestly felt like I was the girl going through this turmoil. I can't wait to find out what happens next. She left a hell of cliff hanger.

UNCOVERED (Part One) by Emily Snow Books: The first book in a series. Gemma or Lizzie as her disguise goes is seeking the truth behind her father's death. She has only meet her step mother and brother once at her dads funeral. However, he just won't stop pursuing her. The author left this cliff hanger and now I can't wait to go read the rest.

VERY BAD THINGS by Ilsa Madden-Mills

THE O INTENTION By Skyla Madi:

BEFORE LUCKY by JS Cooper

LOST IN US a Lost in You Novella by Heidi McLaughlin:

BROKEN AND SCREWED by Tijan: As always Tijan delivers. I was so wrapped up in the story that I had to stop and get the next book.

DAMIAN by Jessica Wood - What a great love story. The cliff hanger at the end of this book had me going right to Amazon and buying the next one.

BREAK ME NO MORE by Crystal Spears:

FAMOUS by Kahlen Aymes:

SHATTERED TIES by K.A. Robinson

This book has potential to be a good story - but its not quite there. The lack of detail made for choppy dialogue, and the story seemed to skip around a lot. It read more like a screen play than a novel.

FAV line so far:
“I will not survive without her again. My heart was shattered when she was gone. My soul was caged. She is back and I am

MY RECC AT AMMY:
He's like Kellan and Travis iro neediness, protective/territorial/caring for her. Crying hero. Its a nice story. I cried because of the situation they find themselves in. The blurb gives the background of the story and if I add anything else it'll be considered spoilers.

Needs editing.
I liked the premise of the story but I didn't find it to be a fulfilling read and didn't connect with the characters. But I'm mentioning it here cos the hero is Travis-like and we all take away different things from diff books.

It was like someone was reading a heartfelt story to me. A situation I could deeply empathize with yet I felt removed from their situation. It felt rushed and the timeline seemed out to me. The bottom line of the story is great and I wished I could get into it, especially considering the gravity of the topic. The author did that part very well, I think. Kudos to her. The "idea" of her characters are wonderful but something is missing for me. I'm frustrated with myself for that, cos I really needed to love this one.

Its not a bad book. Just not for me.

I wanted....more. I kept at it. HOPING and hoping and hoping that it would come. Yes, I know its a short read, I get that, but I've read short gripping fulfilling reads, so I know it can be done.
I also know that I can't expect a whammer of a book every time I read one but this book has a fantastic plot that fell short. I almost felt cheated which is ridiculous on my part cos, after all this author didn't write this especially for me, you know? I just felt it could've been so much more. Im thinking, if say M Leighton (Fragile) or Colleen Hoover got hold of a premise like this, that book will be a NYT bestseller. They'd probably do the grave subject matter justice.

I didn't dislike it, I just felt irritated and resentful that I wasn't getting a meatier read. Sigh. So hard to please. Maybe if this was the first book I ever read, it would have made an impact on me, but I have too much to compare it with, I suppose.

I feel a right cow for not being able to give it 5/5 stars. I gave it a 3 in GR cos like I say, it might not be a book for me but there ARE good things about the book.

3 WTF did I just read stars! I just didn't like Braxxon. I'm sure he was a very realistic representation of a biker but still.

Me Bikers= love/hate.

He was not for me. Any time you can start off an announcement with "Brothers, friends and whores..." For real??!!

The nicknames were just awful and some of them were pretty nasty! On a positive note, Winter has more balls then the whole club combined. They should make her MC Prez...seriously! Braxxon just wasn't very sharp when it came to what was going on around him to be an effective Prez! He made a lot of rookie mistakes! Breakneck wouldn't even stand a chance against Hell's Horseman (Deuces MC) or even Chaos (Tack's MC)! In the end, Winter was just as messed up as Brax so they belonged together. I'll still follow the series because I've learned that there can be improvement. For example I hated Deuce and I'm in totally in love with Ripper... we'll see...

When you pick up Withstanding Me be prepared to withdrawal from the real world and sit on your ass until you finish it. It's the only way. There is so much going on that you can't put it down! I'm a newbie to the Breakneck series, but everyone was gushing about it so I just had to read it! Let me tell you, if you are not prepared for or have not read about motorcycle clubs then this will be a culture shock for you. It was for me, and I was a little put off at first. But then it just draws you in. I got so invested in each of the members' lives that I could not stop reading. The momentum in Withstanding Me did not stop, it swings from one dilemma to the next. Even though I knew nothing about MCs, I didn't feel that I was left in the dark. There is enough back story and development that I got the gist of the norm within Breakneck.

We start off with ZZ, a gruff, badass member who was a father at 13. Dealing with his errant daughter, rival clubs, and Russians is more than his stress level can handle. He wants to alleviate that stress the only way he knows how... sex. Anyone woman would work, but he wants Storm. Storm may have lived a fucked up life up until now, but she refuses to ever have sex again without deeper feelings being attached to it. ZZ on the other hand can't look past the shit world he lives in, and can't believe a feeling such as love exists, nor does he want to engage in it if it did. These two have so much chemistry on pages that it almost hurt to read sometimes. They want each other, but they won't fulfill the complete needs of one another.

Withstanding Me had me on the verge of tears, laughing then cringing and all around completely absorbed. It is completely unforgiving in its portrayal of motorcycle clubs and the lives of their members. These women and men play hard, love hard and fight hard. They protect each other at any cost. There are some gruesome scenes, but it just plays into the reality of the book. If you are not a fan of violence, cussing, sex, and crude humor then you may not want to pick this one up. BUT, you will be missing out. This is not just a couples story, there are ongoing story arcs and several secondary plots that I'm sure will play out later in the series. Ms. Spears builds a gritty, merciless world with characters that are so honest and raw. It blurs the line between fiction and reality, I could definitely see this as a life people lead and it was very insightful. I will be recommending this book and the rest of the series to anyone who will listen. Seize Me (Breakneck #1) is already out, so you may want to start with that, if this series intrigues you. I will say that, there are story arcs that connect the books, but starting with Withstanding Me I didn't really feel left out. However, when given the chance you should always start at the beginning :)

Happy Reading!

Same issues as with the first book in this series - Seize Me

Poor punctuation and grammatical errors. Didn't make the story unreadable though.
Not riddled with numerous sub-plots like Seize Me.

Story was smoother read.

While the premise of the story was good, alot of things were not.

Character development was almost non-existant. Poor punctuation/grammar-though not bad-needs improvement.
Seemingingly neverending sub-plots.

I did like the story, these things listed good much improve it. I will continue the series and hope these problems resolve-usually do as an author develops his/her writing.

As a guilty pleasure MC book... this was not a bad read. I liked the two main characters together and ZZ's ridiculous made me snort more than once.

However, the editing of this book is pretty terrible. I kept getting thrown out of the reading because of typos. My personal favorite is when a bride and groom "said their vowels" in front of the church.

Also, the biker hero in this has a peen piercing I'm not afraid to admit that I found truly terrifying.
