Kendrick Smithyman (1922–1995)

Kendrick Smithyman was a poet. He was born in New Zealand in 1922. Smithyman's book, Atua Wera is based on the life of Nga Puhi, a prophet who started his own religion in the second half of the nineteenth century. The book was a finalist in the Montana New Zealand Book Awards in 1998. In 1986, mostrar más Smithyman won the New Zealand Book Award in Poetry for Stories About Wooden Keyboards.
