Bilveer Singh is a Singapore citizen, an associate professor at the Department of Political Science, National University of Singapore. He is concurrently an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Centre of Excellence for National Security, S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological mostrar más University and the President. Political Science Association, Singapore. He received his MA and PhD in International Relations from the Australian National University. He has been lecturing on issues relating to Singapore's politics and foreign policy for more than 35 years. Badly written, shallow analysis and weak structure, and lacks substantive engagement with the relevant academic literature. Its main contribution is the quotation of large amount of primary sources. But the author does not seriously engage with the repressive elements of the PAP’s dominance or with the carefully crafted national narrative, instead arguing that the dominance stems from the PAP’s excellence and the Opposition’s mistakes. Large parts of actual analysis are not done by the author himself, but brought in through blockquoting others.… (más)

Decent overview, although it could use better editing. However, it is rather government-friendly — mainly through what it does not discuss — and the last three chapters at times almost approach hagiography.
