A collection of stories about the Icelandic emigrants who came to Canada and the United States in the latter part of the ninteenth century. The book is set up in short, easy to read chapters, each giving a summary on some particular piece of the history of the Icelandic North American people. The book ends with a narrative on the folklore of the Icelanders as well as a short story of the first Icelanders to come to North America, the Vikings.
