While I wouldn't necessarily call the 1901 Australian Federal Election "forgotten" (in least in comparison to, say, the 1903 election), "1901: the forgotten election" gives a good overview of Australia's first federal election, including the lead up, the campaigning by the different parties (the Protectionists of Sir Edmund Barton, George Reid's Free Traders and the Labor Party), and media coverage.

The chapters are by various academics and vary in quality and interest but it is a very good insight into a momentous moment in Australian history.… (más)
