review: I absolutely loved this book and that could be because I think the ocean life is so fascinating but its also full of great facts about dolphins and whales. It had real pictures rather than drawings or paintings, which I think is a great addition.

Summary: this book talks about how dolphins and whales are mammals and not fish. it goes into detail about their diet and how big and fast these animals are. It also talks about how some of the whales has teeth and how some of them don't. This book doesn't just focus on one type of whale but multiple. It focuses on how sometimes these animals can strand themselves and die and how these animals act in general.

I really loved the photos included in this book-- I think they would help students understand what a kangaroo is and what it looks like if they were unfamiliar. However, I did not like how some of the photos did not show strong correlation with the text, since this could confuse children trying to learn vocabulary words included in the text. This book could be used to supplement a research project or as part of a unit that critiques books.
