2023 movie #159. 1948. When an artist's (Clark) girlfriend (Smith) leaves him in California, he follows her to NYC and finds she's married to a crooked boxing promoter (Scott) in a wheelchair. So he becomes a boxer. Much footage of bad boxing follows. Not a great movie.
2023 movie #101. 1942. 3-time loser, and former big shot, Duke (Bogart) is trying to keep his nose clean when he's framed for a crime he didn't commit. He escapes from prison and the movie climaxes with a car chase on a snowy mountain road. Enjoyable noir.
2023 movie #68. 1952. The great Grover Cleveland Alexander (the affable Reagan) survives a beaning, epilepsy and the bottle to help the Cardinals beat the '26 Yankees in the World Series (with 2 wins and a save). Decent, if not entirely factual, baseball movie.
