After Reading this book, I had mixed feelings. I really liked that the author set the same story from two points of view. One side of the book started from the pup's point of view on wanting a little boy owner and the other side of the book was from the boy's point of view who wanted a puppy. In addition the writing had a very nice flow throughout the book. Within both points of view, the stanzas were set up like a poem. The writing included a lot of repetition, such as; "So Jet ran away..", with the start of each new problem for the young pup. I didn't like some of the wording within the story. As the story seems to be for the age of 1st and 2nd grade, I believe that "Mister Brumblepaster, who beat him and kicked him" could be too intense of an image for this age group. The big idea of this book is too show that there is a place for everyone, the author portrayed this by aligning the dreams of a boy and a puppy and showing that they were meant to be together.… (más)

This story is about the relationship between a dog and a young boy. The boy begged his parents for a dog and finally his parents surprised him with a puppy. The illustrations throughout the book were very colorful and keep the reader's attention.
