Communication Then and Now uses compare and contrast within an informational text. The book displays and informs the reader of different forms of communication, which has been used over time. Connecting the central focus of communication which is explored in the text, and comparing those forms with today’s forms of communication would enhance prior knowledge. This text can also be used to determine textual importance, and identify sequential events. Some key vocabulary is displayed with corresponding pictures, in the front of the book.
