So Nessa is a mage and she has an only daughter Nathalie. Nessa is a strong woman and mother and she needs to tell her daughter she is a mage also, but she can't. There is this character Dreon and he is awesome in my humble opinion and he drives the story forward. Nessa eventually finds out she is a mage and things get complicated after that. This story has mages, gnomes, and other creatures that are some cute and other not so much.

I didn't like this book, I ended loving the story. On the other hand I must let you know this is the debut story from this author. It has several things that for an avid fantasy reader may get you upset, like the author gives a long descriptions of things, however, I found it necessary to convey the idea of the scene. On the other hand some readers may disagree with me.
I say give the book a chance, the story is good. It is really good. I am reading the second book and it picks up where this one left and it is worth the time. At least I feel it was worth my time. it took me a few weeks to read it only because if my busy schedule and life being complicated but this can be a weekend read. I'm so glad it's a series because when it ended I wanted to keep reading and it was great I had the second book ready for me to start. There were parts in the book I was yelling at the characters, and my family got scared at the sudden outburst. Other times I was yelling is frustrations, just because I wanted more and the author would just give me little bits.
It was an easy read. I tend to read young adults books before I pass them to my nephew and this one is going to be one of his Christmas presents this year.
I would recommend this to anyone who loves young adult fantasy.… (más)
