This was a fascinating look into the teaching life and persona of Anne Sexton, both troubling and inspiring. I'd recommend it to anyone who is or has been a fan of her writing, or who teaches writing (creative, composition, or something else entirely). The language may get a bit academic at times, but overall it's a fairly easy read, and engaging throughout. For anyone interested in the classroom in the 1960s and around the civil rights movement, the last chapter is a look at Anne Sexton in the context of that history, through the lens of work by [[James Baldwin]], [[Ralph Ellison]], and [[Toni Morrison]]. Particularly fans of Ellison might be interested in this chapter.… (más)
