The arrangement isn’t chronological, and usually I don’t detect the editor’s wit that the guy used in placing one after another; but having first “The Restoration of the Erring” by Frederick William Robertson, especially how it ends, immediately followed by Luther’s “Preaching and Perceiving the Word”, is brilliant.
“You guys have bombs in the basement and I’m a little worried about you. And worse: you have treasures of gold and silver lost in the attic in rotting wooden boxes and dumpy plastic bins—let it out; let the world see....”
And it’s not uncommon for people to take it bad both ways, in one way or another.... although in a way that’s almost encouraging.
Good book. Easy to give it a once-over and only pay attention to people you’ve heard of, you know. “Gee I’ve heard of....”. By the second time you’ve heard of all of them, right.
