Angela Rosengart

Purchased from the Sammlung Rosengart Museum in Luzern, Switzerland, this book is not about the museum’s collection but about the lifetime friendship between Pablo Picasso, Siegfried (father) and Angela Rosengart. After Pablo passed away in April 1973, Angela assembled a set of photos as her personal memoir of him and then decided to turn it into a book with her memories written down, so she may share it with her friends. This book is very personal – her perspective of him, their time together including her sittings for him, the many visits where Pablo shared new techniques he was trying, numerous photos showcasing his life and home, and a peek of that temperament which all artists embody. The book begins from Angela’s first meeting with Pablo in Paris 1949 when she was a teenager introduced by her father and ends with photos dated October 1972. For those who enjoy an insider’s view to Pablo Picasso, this is a gem. Otherwise, the museum in Luzern is a gem.… (más)
