This is, overall, a good book. Robinson explains fairly abstruse material in a friendly and creative way. If you are looking for an explication of what spectroscopy *is* and what it does and what it means, this book will be a good guide.

However, as with pretty much every one of the books in this series, I have to ask: why can't Springer afford to hire a decent copyeditor?

The gaffes, typos, wildly inconsistent punctuation ... the fact that chapters are referred to by number even though they don't have numbers ... the fact that the index is a terrible joke ... gives me the impression that this was a book produced by people (the author very much aside) who Just Don't Care.

Springer serves their authors very badly.… (más)
