Erika Ritzel

Erika explores the disrupted realities of estate sales, those marketplaces where one person's junk gets mingled with other people's junk and some of it becomes treasure, at least for a moment, and goes home to become someone else's junk. The photographs explore the transitional spaces of these sales, wherein lives formerly lived there are displaced by artifacts from totally unrelated lives lived elsewhere.
