I started teaching Kindergarten this past year and thought this might be a fun and useful resource. Unfortunately the curriculum is so jam-packed I haven't figured out yet how to incorporate it into my teaching. Some of the puzzles seemed more appropriate for Kindergarten than others.

A fun collection of logic games for young children. My 4-yr-old son loves the sequences, an early step to the logical thinking needed for math. The copyright permits copying for a single classroom (and I am homeschooling, so that's a classroom!), so I can cut out the pictures instead of just writing the sequence, which makes it an even better manipulative. Each one-page lesson includes a paragraph of instructions to the teacher about how to explain it. We will be using it for at least a couple of years, I think!… (más)

Easy to understand lessons. Large print for young readers. May be hard to set itself apart, however, from other educational workbooks just because of the sheer volume of workbooks out there. Pleasant graphics make lessons enjoyable, as does the cover.

As a 4th and 5th grade teacher, this book teaches some of the basic concepts of logic to young children. Often in the early grades, we are focused on math facts and children becoming speedy with that information. While doing this, we don't give enough time to the development of logic. What I liked about this book is the worksheets are easily understandable and do not require a lot of prework. These could easily fit into a morning meeting or a short mini-lesson on logic. In many of today's classrooms the larger math and reading required texts do not have a lot of flexibility (and take up a lot of time) so it can be difficult to fit supplemental materials into the day. So these short lessons could easily fit into small blocks of time and still be meaningful. They could also be the beginning of board work or used with an overhead projector.
Overall, this is a helpful tool to have in a teacher's library of materials.
