Premise sounded good so I grabbed KU...but 20% in so many edit errors and it keeps flipping from 1st to 3rd person

Example...one line

"I asked .....

and then a few later it's Brett said....but same person is speaking ....frustrating!

I loved the concept of the book, and I admit to having quite a few tears as I read through the emotional ups and downs that Tristan went through with the loss of his sister. I thought the emotion was well written for this part. The child mix up and subsequent meeting the families was interesting and well handled. I liked the story, and was invested in how it would all work out.

Where I had some frustrations was in the writing itself. There were times where I had difficulty determining who was speaking, and there was a lot of inner dialogue and feelings rehashed repeatedly. I felt like there were a lot of words when the idea could've been conveyed with a little less verbosity. I found myself wanting to skim over some of the inner thoughts to get to something fresh.

Overall, though, it was a good story. i enjoyed the kids, I loved watching Tristan and Nathaniel fall in love and make a family together, and I loved seeing Nathaniel find a mom and family like he had never had before. This was a 3.5 star read for me.

Where I liked the concept of the first book, I struggled with some of the writing. The author definitely improved since the last book, and I really enjoyed this much more. The story was just as interesting as the last one, and I loved the characters. Teo, the best friend of Tristan, has been looking for a committed relationship and is not ready to just settle. When he meets his sister's doctor, he is completely smitten, but believes he is married. Michael is completely smitten with Teo, but he thinks he is the husband, not the brother. Michael's wife died a few years ago, and he has never had any interest in anyone since. When the two meet again and realize they were both wrong and they are both single, they decide that they need to jump in with both feet and grab what happiness they deserve. It was super sweet with the occasional angst/drama, but they both realized that they shouldn't let it slip through their fingers. I really enjoyed this, and I can't wait to find out what happened to Cris.

This was a good no-angst story of Elliot, a 24-year-old artist who moved to a new city, and Scott, Elliot's dad's 48-year-old friend who is giving Elliot a place to stay in his new city. They were both attracted right from the start even though Elliot didn't think he was gay. There was a lot of exploration between the guys and they had a nice and comfortable relationship. Elliot was very inexperienced and Scott taught him all he needed to know. The book ended in a spot that, at first, I was annoyed by. Fortunately, there was the first glimpse that the next book that started off right where this one ended. The more I thought about that, the more it made sense. This entire book was from the POV of Elliot and Scott. The next book (and the glimpse we got) was from Elliot's dad's POV. It gave me the extra bit I was hoping for at the end of the book but also didn't ruin the POV dynamics of this book. I'm very interested to see what will happen in the next book. I'd love to see Jack find some happiness.
