The Ark Files was not bad but certainly not the archeological thriller I was hoping for (ala Matthew Reilly). The antagonists were cookie-cutter evil and the protagonists were pretty much indestructible and not particularly likable. And the big reveal at the end could be seen from the start.

A useful prequel that covers the events leading into book 1 Kathmandu. It sets up the main character nicely and was a fun short read

Then he receives an offer he can't refuse from a very wealthy peer who pays him a lot to go to Nepal to find the man's adult daughter who disappeared several years ago. Her story is a that of rescuing others to escape her own past, but together she and Leo embark on a real thrill ride that intensifies with each chapter.
